REGULATIONS
1) The contest is open to all cartoonists, illustrators and graphic artists from all over the world
2) Theme: MODERN ART
Sections: A) Graphics/Cartoon
B) Satire
C) CaricatureBeginning this year, there will also be instituted a special Section dedicated to Osvaldo Cavandoli - in art "Cava" - creator of the famous character "La Linea".
It's possible to participate in all the sections.
3) Entries: max. 3 works. The works must be original and accompanied by the author's photo or caricature, entry-form and biography. Each work should bear the signature or mark of the author and name, surname, address, phone number and other data on the back.The author have to indicate the section for each work/s.
4) Size: A4 (21 x 29,7 cm)
5) Technique: Free. Common graphic and digital prints will be accepted but only if signed by the author. Copies of ink and pencil drawings are not applicable. The works sent in digital form, by email or informatic devices, will not be considered for the awarding of prizes of Grand Prix "Marco Biassoni"; the works will be taken into consideration only for the exhibition and for the catalogue.All the works, included works sent in digital form, will be taken into consideration only for the "Cava" Prize.
6) Deadline: September 27, 2010 (the post-mark will provide the proof)
7) Prizes: the Jury will award the following prizes:Grand Prix "Marco Biassoni" for the best work1st Prize Special Prize of Jury 5 Special Mentions for each section (Graphics/Cartoon, Satire, Caricature)"Cava" Prize for the best work that combines humoristic beauty with the essentiality of graphic execution.
8) Exhibition: October 17 - 24, 2010 at the "MAGA" Museum Art Gallarate.Opening ceremony: October 17, 2010 at 11,00 AM
9) Catalogue: each selected author will receive a copy
10) Property: the Organizers reserve the rights to reproduce the cartoons in catalogue, newspapers, or posters to promote the Contest and to exhibit a selection of works in other locations in Italy and other countries. All the works will not be returned and will be included in the " Humour Gallarate Collection ".

30th International Nasreddin Hodja Cartoon Contest 2010

The contest is open to all cartoonists all over the world. The cartoonists are free to participate with already published works as long as these works have not previously been awarded in any other contest. Choice of subject is free. The participants may send only one work. The dimensions of works should not exceed 30 x 40 cm and only originals are accepted. Name, surname, address, phone number and country of origin of the participant should be written on the back of his/her work. And also a short CV of the participant should be attached. The works must reach the organizing association not later than August21, 2010. The results will be announced on August 31, 2010. The participating cartoons will be kept at the Cartoon andHumour Museum of Istanbul by the Association of Cartoonists. The participating cartoons will be put into an album. The cartoons for the album and the exhibition will be selected by a jury. “MUESTRA DE HUMOR GRÁFICO POR LA MEMORIA, LA VERDAD Y LA JUSTICIA”

Convocamos a todos los humoristas gráficos a sumarse a la “MUESTRA DE HUMOR GRÁFICO POR LA MEMORIA, LA VERDAD Y LA JUSTICIA” recientemente declarada de interés por la Honorable Cámara de Diputados de la Nación Argentina.
La temática de los trabajos debe ayudar a consolidar la memoria colectiva de la sociedad, generar sentimientos opuestos a todo tipo de autoritarismo y auspiciar la defensa permanente del Estado de Derecho y la plena vigencia de los Derechos Humanos.
“La muestra es una forma de incorporar a las generaciones jóvenes, desde un costado inusual, en el conocimiento de una época tremenda que no ha de olvidarse, y en ese sentido entendemos que esta Cámara debe destacar iniciativas de esta naturaleza, de proyección social, cultural y política, alentando a que se siga exponiendo en diferentes lugares de la Argentina para contribuir a los valores que forman parte de la convocatoria: Memoria, Verdad y Justicia, ladrillos elementales para la construcción de una Argentina diferente” (Proyecto de Resolución Cámara de Diputados - Número de Expediente es el 3364-D-2010). 2nd INTERNATIONAL CARICATURE/CARTOON CONTESTLA CIUDAD DE LAS IDEAS 2010

1. Any artist (professional or not) from around the world can participate, as long as he or she is over 18 years of age.
2. Submissions must be completely original and unedited. They must not be participating in a similar contest or event simultaneously.
3. The question to develop is:If you came from another planet, what would you ask Humanity?The contest attempts to discover what you would answer to this question with a caricature/cartoon, you can add short texts to the artwork and they must be written in Spanish or English. You must represent the question very clear, either by implying within the artwork or as the title thereof.*The organization is within rights to cancel submissions that prove offensive.
4. Contestants can submit up to 3 works (authors who submit more than 3 will be disqualified).
5. Any technique is accepted (digital or hand made, color or black and white).
6. Works should not be bigger than 21 cm x 29 cm or in proportional size, with a resolution of no less than 300 dpi.
7. Contestants will add a document where the following will be specified:Full author name and pseudonym Author picture or caricature Address Telephone Number Email Nationality Title of each submission Is it the first time you participate? 13. The jury will be selected by Poder Cívico and will be qualified to solve any situation related with the contest that doesn’t meet the requirements. The award will be declared null if the jury decides that none of the works submitted meet quality standards, which will be unappealable. Jury members will be kept secret until results are published.
14. Submissions that do not win will be able to get picked up at the Poder Cívico offices three months after results are published, works that are not picked up will be made available by Martha Barragán Méndez for any return that could be required after the date established by Poder Cívico.
15. 1. Podrán participar artistas de cualquier lugar del mundo profesionales o aficionados, mayores de 18 años.
2. Las obras presentadas deberán ser totalmente originales e inéditas. No deberán estar participando de manera simultánea en otro concurso o evento.
3. La pregunta a desarrollar es:Si vinieras de otro planeta, ¿Qué le preguntarías a la Humanidad? El concurso se trata de saber que responderías a esta pregunta con una caricatura, puedes usar textos cortos en la caricatura y deberán estar escritos en español o traducidos en inglés si tu idioma no es ninguno de los anteriores. Deberás dejar clara la pregunta de manera implícita en la caricatura o como título de la obra.*La organización se reserva el derecho de retirar del concurso los trabajos que resulten ofensivos.
4. Cada concursante podrá participar con 3 obras (se descalificaran aquellos autores que manden más de 3 obras).
5. Cualquier técnica será aceptada (digital o manual. A color o en b/n).
6. La obra no podrá ser mayor 21 cm x 29 cm o en tamaño proporcional, con resolución no menor de 300 dpi.

13. El jurado será nombrado por Poder Cívico y estará facultado para resolver cualquier situación relacionada con el concurso que no cumpla con lo establecido en estás bases. El premio podrá ser declarado desierto si el jurado estima que ninguna de las obras presentadas tiene suficiente calidad, cuyo fallo será inapelable. La composición del jurado permanecerá secreta hasta la publicación del fallo.
14. Las obras no ganadoras podrán ser retiradas por los autores en las oficinas de Poder Cívico tres meses después de ser publicado el fallo, las obras que no sean recogidas, estarán en depósito con Martha Barragán Méndez para cualquier devolución que sea requerida posterior a la fecha establecida por Poder Cívico.
