Convocatoria del XIII Salon de Humor y el 40 aniversario de MELAITO

La publicación humorística Melaíto y la Unión de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba en Villa Clara (UNEAC), convocan al VIII Salón de Humorismo «Santa Clara 2008», dedicado en esta edición a los 40 años de vida de Melaíto, y por primera vez con carácter internacional

Bases:

Los temas a concursar serán libre y erótico. Las dimensiones de las obras pueden llegar hasta 25 x 35 cm en tamaño máximo, en cualquier técnica y soporte; los de tercera dimensión no rebasarán los 50 x 50 cm en cualquiera de sus lados.

Las obras se recepcionarán hasta el 30 de noviembre del 2008 en:

Los premios:

Se otorgarán 3 premios por cada categoría y las menciones que el jurado estime pertinentes:1er premio: 2 000 moneda nacional y diploma2do premio: 1 300 moneda nacional y diploma3er premio: 800 moneda nacional y diploma

El jurado estará integrado por prestigiosos caricaturistas del país, y su dictamen será inapelable.

Los extranjeros que sean laureados recibirán una obra en lienzo del multipremiado pintor villaclareño Juan Ramón Valdés (YIKI) y diploma, que se les hará llegar de forma segura.

Además, en los días comprendidos entre el 18 y el 20 de diciembre tendrá lugar un encuentro entre los más destacados dibujantes del país, y se realizará un mural colectivo con dibujos en contra del terrorismo, dedicado al caricaturista Gerardo Hernández Nordelo y sus compañeros que cumplen injustas condenas en los Estados Unidos de América.

La inauguración de la exposición y entrega de los premios se hará el 20 de diciembre del 2008 a las 3:00 de la tarde en la sede de la UNEAC en Villa Clara.

Este día, además, el colectivo de Melaíto y la Unión de Escritores y Artistas en la provincia homenajearán a un grupo de fundadores y, especialmente, al caricaturista cubano de larga trayectoria René de la Nuez, Premio Nacional de las Artes Plásticas, quien desempeñó un papel decisivo en los inicios de esta publicación.Para aclarar dudas sobre la presente convocatoria pueden dirigirse a la siguiente dirección:

The humorous publication Melaito and the Cuban Writers and Artists Union (UNEAC) convoke to the VIII Humour Hall «Santa Clara 2008», this issue dedicated to the 40 years of Melaito, and for the first time with international range.

Laureate foreigners will receive a canvas by the award-winning artist Juan Ramón González (Yiki) and a diploma, these will be sent to them in a safe manner.A meeting of the outstanding Cuban cartoonists will take place between the days 18 and 20 of December, who will paint a collective mural against terrorism and dedicated to Gerardo Hernández Nordelo and his comrades wrongfully imprisoned in the United States of America.

The opening of the exhibition and awards will be on December 20th of 2008 at 3. 00 pm. in the UNEAC house in Villa Clara.That same day a group of founders and specially the Cuban cartoonist of great trajectory René de la Nuez, Plastic Arts National Prize, who played an decisive roll in the beginning of Melaito, will be honoured by this publication and the UNEAC.For further information about this summons call 202661.

The Satirical Manufactory "Zikison" (Satirična Radionica Žikišon) are announcing in the categories, the themes:
1. THE PORTRAIT CARICATURE "ZIKISON" WITHOUT WORDS. How do caricaturists imagine "Žikišon" and his life time?
2. THE CARICATURE WITHOUT WORDS – FREE FORM. For both of categories you can send up to 3 works on A/4 size of paper, up to 200 KB by E-mail, any technique is allowed.
3. THE SHORT ALTERNATIVE COMIC STRIP – FREE FORM. A board needs to content up to 6 squares , A/3 format, up 400 KB by E-mail, any technique is allowed, up to 3 boards in a work or 3 boards of a single strip.
The competition will be opened and free for all of the professionals and amateurs, for affirmed and unknown authors from 7 to 77 years of age, for all people on this planet but in the case if someone appears from other planet then we will become the first interplanetar competition.

ZIKISON (1885. - 1950.) Was a Satirist, a caricaturist, an editor, a publisher, and a printer. Between two wars in Serbia he was an actuator, a Co – Author editor of many of newspaper for humor and satire. He has been suffering and imprisoned by Communist Regime in 1949. Soon after that torture and seizing his property, he was died in 1950.

The 6th International Biennial of Caricature THE GOLDEN SMILE – BELGRADE 2008

REGULATIONS
*The sixth International Biennial of Caricature THE GOLDEN SMILE – BELGRADE 2008, organized by the ULUPUDS (Association of Fine and Applied Artists and Designers of Serbia) and FECO Serbia, will be held at the Ethnographic Museum in Belgrade, December, 2008.
*The competition is open to artists from all over the world.
*Theme of the exhibition: TRADITION AND PROGRESS
*Each author is to submit original works (all fine or graphic arts techniques are accepted). Author may enter unlimited number of works. The maximum size of one caricature is 42 X 29.7 cm (format A3). Due to scanning requirement format A4 (29.7 X 21 cm) image size, is recommended. Digital prints signed by the author, and good quality photo-copies will also be accepted.
*The selection of works will be made by the Council of the Exhibition.
*An international Jury appointed by the Exhibition Council will decide on Awards.
*Awards: The Golden Medal and 600 EUR
The Silver Medal and 400 EUR
The Bronze Medal and 300 EUR
The Award of the Weekly Magazine NIN for the best graphic print.
*The works, marked on the back with the sticker (or the photocopy of the sticker) filled, should arrive by NOVEMBER 1st, 2008 to the following address:

International Caricature Contest Godofredo Guedes' Centenary - BRAZIL

International Caricature Contest Godofredo Guedes' CentenaryMontes Claros' administration through the municipal culture secretary and Brazilcartoon, opens the International Godofredo Guedes' Centenary Caricature Contest in homage to the important graphic artist and instruments, composer and instrument fabricant.Godofrendo, Godo, as he was kindly named, was born in august 15 on the city Riacho de Santana, Bahia, in 1908. In 1953 he moved to Montes Claros / MG. He began to dominate the brush before he was 15, in 1923.His first work was "Nosso Senhor Bom Jesus da Lapa", made by oil. As the years went by he became a reference in painting portraits and beautiful landscapes, North of Minas' hinterlands scenes.

Godofredo was also an influence to the beginning of advertising in Montes Claros, producing painted signs to local commerce. In music he had a most important role in compositions that are nationally known such as "CANTAR". which have already been recorded by Milton Nascimento and Paula Toler, as well as his own son, the singer and composer Beto Guedes.Godofredo went beyond the mounts, in Minas' capital, where he collaborated in the creation of the art market in Belo Horizonte, in Liberdade Square.The imortal Godofredo have always had painting and music in his blood, and contributed immensely with the cultural formation of Montes Claros. He left a valuable inheritance of compositions and paintings, and also created an instrument, pentacorde, that have and particular sound. The City Montes Claros, Brazilcartoon's home, opens the celebrations of Godofredo Guedes' centenary with several festivities, in order to retribute to the great cultural collaboration of this talented artist: Godofredo Guedes.Montes Claros is located in the north portion of Minas Gerais. It is an important academic pole and the cultural crib that has already projected great artists in national and international scene such as the writer Darcy Ribeiro, the illustrator and cartoonist Marcelo Lelis, the singer and composer Beto Guedes, one of the integrants of MPB movement, Clube da Esquina. Konstantin Christoff, humor painter known internationally, Carlos Muniz, cartoonist, and Marcio Leite, Brazilcartoon's director.

International Godofredo Guedes' Centenary Contest’s Regulation

1- Any person can participate the Contest, except Culture Secretary's and Brazilcartoon's workers and organization staff.

2- Participants: The competition is open to all amateur cartoonists, professionals and students

3- The unknown works shall be presented in vertical, format 30cm x 40 cm

4- Each contestant may participate with only 1 (one) work.

5- Techinique is free.

6- Only original works will be accepted. Digital works shall be signed by the artist's hand. In the back of each work shall present the following information: Author's full name, full address with zip-code, phone number, CIC, Identity, bank data and e-mail

7- The works can be registrated personally or by mail. The final prize to registration is 31/10/2008, counting the publishing date. Brazilcartoon's site won't be responsible by any damage occurred during the publishing.

OBS.: The under-age participants shall send, written down, the autorization of the parents of responsible.

15 - Authorial rightsThe organization staff reserve the right to veto the participation of those whose work's subject won't fit the contest's proposal. The organization may use the works sent to divulgate the event and in Brazilcartoon.
