7th BaraKaldo Fest.

The city of Barakaldo organizes the "New technologies" seventh international contest of pictorial humour and flash humour.
The cartoonists will send a work of illustrated humour or FLASH in relation with new technologies which have a considerable impact on the day to day life (i.e. internet, biology, space, telecommunications, medicine, etc...). The idea is to help citizens to think about the new grounds for scientific progress.
1. Applicants:
The competition is open to everyone, especially with no regard of age. Each applicant can present a maximum of three piece of work. The works of the authors who won the Hermes prize the year before will not be taken in consideration.
2. Form and size:
The scenes and characters will have to be originals and of proper creation. The works can be drawn in black and white or in colour. They can be either static or with motion. As far as the motion piece of work is concerned, it must not weight more than one mega. The works will have a length of one page that will not exceed 800 x 600 pixels, with a minimum resolution of 72 pixels per inch.
The authors must not include their name or any other information about themselves on the works. Otherwise, they will be eliminated from the contest.
3. Languages:
Only two languages can be used: spanish and basque. Nonetheless the panel will take into consideration works of pictorial interest without text, proceeding from artists of places where these languages are not used.
4. Presentation:
Applicants will send a e-mail with their names, surnames, address, date of birth, passport number, telephone number. They will send this e-mail with the file of the picture in format JPEG, GIF, GIF animated or FLASH.
5. Place and deadline of the application: The piece of work with the reference of the artist will be sent exclusively through e-mail, to the following address: hermesbarakaldo@barakaldo.org before 2007 October 8th.
6. Virtual showing: The city contemplates realizing a public diffusion of the works presented and lately selected by the panel.
7. Awards: The "Hermes de Barakaldo" prize is divided in two categories:
Animated category:
1st prize: 1.200 euros
2nd prize: 800 euros
3rd prize: 600 euros
Non-animated category:
1st prize: 1.200 euros
2nd prize: 800 euros
3rd prize: 600 euros
8. Panel: A qualified panel of judges will pick out the best works. Prizes will be handed on the first week of December 2007, in Barakaldo. The city leaves to the panel the possibility to declare no winners, according to quality criteria.
9. Other determination:
Taking part to the competition implies the acceptance of the conditions overhead.

The 8th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial

The 8th Tehran International Cartoon Biennial organizing committee invites cartoonists from all over the World to participate in this contest.
Regulation:
1) The contest is open to all cartoonists.
2) The contest will be in four categories:
A- Cartoon (Two Sections) Theme: 1. Money 2. Free
B- Comic strip, theme: Bad luck
C- Caricature, theme: Free
3) THE PRIZES:
Grand Prize: 8000$, Trophy and Honorable Mention (The main cartoon theme)
First Prize: 2000$, Trophy and Honorable Mention
Second Prize: 1500$, Trophy and Honorable Mention
Third Prize: 1000$, Trophy and Honorable Mention
The first to Third Prize will be awarded separately for each section of the contest.
The jury panel of the 8th Tehran Cartoon Biennial will also award 10 selected artists with Honorable Mentions.
Special Prizes will be offered by various Sponsors, Establishments, Associations, Newspapers and Agencies.
4) A maximum of 3 works in each section can be submitted by the participating cartoonists.
5) The dimensions of works should not exceed the minimum 20x30 cm and maximum 30x40 cm
6) Comic strip must be presented in one page and without any words.
7) Only original artworks are accepted, without any kind of frame, accompanied by the entry form and author's short biography and photo.
8) Quality prints of works achieved by digital tools will be accepted as originals as long as they are hand signed by the author, accompanied by the digital file of the artwork in Tiff format with 300 Dpi resolution on a CD. No photocopies or photographs will be accepted.
9) Name, surname, address, phone number and e-mail of the participant should be written on the back of each cartoon
10) The choice of technique is free, color or B&W and etc.
11) The deadline : October 22, 2007

12) The participating cartoons will not be returned.
13) All Cartoonists whom their cartoons are published in the catalogue will receive a free copy.
14) The organizers will do their best to protect all submitted cartoons from any probable damage, but takes no responsibility of the damages caused by post or bad transport.
15) The organizers hold all the rights to publish the cartoons submitted to the contest and use them in any from.
16) All participants are considered to accept all the conditions.

14º FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA “Ricardo Rendón” COLOMBIA

RICARDO RENDÓN - El más destacado caricaturista Colombiano nacido en Rionegro - Antioquia (1894 - 1931), llamado " El Emperador" de la caricatura.
Uno de los más perspicaces y finos humoristas latinoamericanos del siglo XX, en su obra el humor fue sátira, se caracterizó especialmente por la caricatura política.
Sus caricaturas eran verdaderas radiografías de los hechos y de los individuos. Fue pionero de la publicidad gráfica en Colombia.

14° FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE CARICATURA "Ricardo Rendón”

Apoyado por la Administración Municipal de Rionegro durante trece años consecutivos en homenaje a Ricardo Rendón.
El Festival, único en la historia del país por su trayectoria y continuidad; ha permitido mirar la percepción de autores de más de 80 países, protagonistas de los cambios y vivencias de los pueblos que con el mismo humor aportan al crecimiento de la humanidad.
El pensamiento risueño y su idioma universal, con la Caricatura logramos el sueño y el anhelo universal de borrar fronteras tanto territoriales como ideológicas que nos impiden vivir en armonía y visualizar la luz de la libertad como principio de paz y convivencia.
Las Condiciones : a) El Concurso está abierto a todos los caricaturistas de el mundo.
b) El último día para la participación en el concurso es el día sábado 20 de Octubre
de 2007.
c) Los Temas del concurso son Dos: 1. EL COMERCIO, como se refleja la cultura
del comercio y su desarrollo universal, la actividad socioeconómica consistente en la compra y venta de bienes, sea para su uso, para su venta o para su transformación; El trueque, el Comercio Callejero, Internacional, Libre Comercio, y todo aquello que se relacione con el tema, y Tema 2. LIBRE.
d) Cada participante puede presentar en el concurso un máximo de
cuatro caricaturas por tema.
e) Se puede participar con caricaturas en blanco y negro o en color.
f) Las caricaturas enviadas han de tener como máximo una dimensión
de 30 x 40 cms.
g) También se puede participar en el concurso con caricaturas que ya
hayan sido publicadas o premiadas con anterioridad, todas las
caricaturas presentadas deberán ser originales, no se aceptarán
fotografías, fotocopias, etc, y el envío de las obras correrán por cuenta
del participante.
h) Los participantes han de enviar un breve currículum vitae y una
fotografía junto con sus obras.
i) En el reverso de cada caricatura debe ir el nombre, apellidos,
dirección, número de teléfono y país de origen del participante.
j) Los Caricaturistas seleccionados recibirán un catálogo.
k) El jurado estará compuesto de caricaturistas colombianos y
extranjeros.
l) Los resultados se anunciarán en el mes de Diciembre de 2005.
m) Las caricaturas presentadas en el concurso no serán devueltas.
n) La organización se reserva el derecho de exhibir aquellas obras que
entienda puedan atentar contra derechos individuales o colectivos.
o) La Participación en el concurso supone la aceptación íntegra y sin
reservas de estas condiciones.

The 2nd International Cartoon Competition “Revelionul Caricaturistilor”

The competition is organized by the Cultural Centre Urziceni in collaboration with the City Hall Urziceni. It is the second time that we organize the competition for authors from all over the world. The first edition was a success. The catalogue is on post to the participants. Your art cartoons will be very welcome again in Romania.
Rules of the competition
1. Theme: SUPERSTITION
2. The works must be originals. The digital art works are accepted. Copies are not accepted.
3. Dimension of the works: min. A4, max A3.
4. The cartoons will stay in our archive to be used in the future anniversary editions of the festival.
5. The jury will meet in December 2007.

HUMOUR A GALLARATE International Cartoon Contest - Gallarate (Italy)
